Plant was grown in house in west window for 5 years.where it flowered but did get insect infestation by spring each year. Now has grown and flowered outside for 2 years in 6 inch clay pot next to rock wall that absorbs sun's heat and next to a pool of water. Zone 7-8 (climate is changing) high desert. Protected from frost. Lows do get to 20 degrees but do not last entire day. 30 inches tall. Growing in cacti mix. Watered when it rains in Tucson, Arizona USA. Full sun. USA[El Paso, Texas] A visitor 2009-08-15
