| 'Giant Window Pane palm' would be a cumbersome, but appropriate common name for this Madagascan beauty. Young plants have large, entire, grass-green leaves with slits or 'windows' in them, making the plant instantly recognisable. Easily grown in warm to tropical climates, it would also make a superb conservatory specimen.
