Plant of the Cucurbitaceae family. Its name was given by Adrianus Dirk Jacob Meeuse in 1962. It is found in the forests and bushes of southern Africa and Madagascar, growing in a well drained but slightly rich soil with some water and some sun. The caudex can grow to 25 centimetres, the vines up to two metres. The small flowers are greenish yellow.
