Hydriastele wendlandiana
[Hydriastele douglasiana, Kentia wendlandiana]

[ Palmae ] [ Australia ]

This medium sized feather-leaved palm from the Moluccas Islands in S.E. Asia produces a slender, ringed, green trunk and a slim, waxy-green crownshaft that will carry an open crown of glossy green, irregularly divided leaves with a large, undivided terminal leaflet. Hydriastele beguinii is an excellent ornamental for tropical areas and also does well as an unusual indoor plant.
